A Thermal Expansion Tank is designed to absorb the increased water volume that results from heating in closed hot water systems. As water is heated, it expands, and the Thermal Expansion Tank helps maintain safe pressure levels within the system, preventing the discharge of the relief valve and mitigating other potential hazards. These tanks work alongside a backflow preventer or check valve to ensure proper system function. Constructed with a stainless steel connection, a polypropylene liner that separates water from the tank shell, and a durable butyl rubber diaphragm, the tank comes pre-charged with 50 PSIG nitrogen. It effectively manages excess pressure generated in the water heater, providing a safe and reliable system for your home.
